Verner Water Discolouration Update #2
Water treatment at the Verner Plant is showing favourable results and tap water discolouration due to high manganese levels is beginning to subside. Although some households may still be experiencing some residual colour, to the best of our knowledge the conditions should continue to improve.
Verner residents who have not yet received the maximum of 4 cases of bottled water can obtain them until 7 p.m. today (August 8) at the Verner Fire Hall. The Clean Water Truck for dispensing into personal jugs and containers will also be on site until 7 p.m. today. The water bottles will remain available by appointment for those in need on Friday, August 9, 2019 until 4:00 p.m. For assistance, please contact the West Nipissing Fire and Emergency Services at 705-753-1170.
The Municipality will take remedial actions again should conditions change. Council and the Municipality continue to evaluate long-term measures to rectify the issue permanently.
Thank you to the residents and volunteers for your patience and collaboration.
