Thursday: 12pm to 8pm

General Admission: $4 + tax per person
School and Group Tours
Choose the location and we’ll bring you hands-on educational exhibits that encourage participants to play and learn about nature, animals and our region’s pioneers.
This is a great opportunity for schools and community groups to save on traveling. Please note that the Mobile Museum is only available on Mondays and costs $5 per person. Contact us today for reservations.

Nature Trails
Free and open year-round! The Museum has 1 km of low-impact walking trails through provincially significant wetlands. Enjoy the natural cranberry bogs and the scenery of overlooking beautiful Lake Nipissing.
Snowshoe rentals are available at the Museum during regular business hours. $10 per person.

Facility Rental
The Banquet Hall is available for all special occasions, weddings, meetings and conferences. A fully equipped kitchen and bar facility are at your disposal or you may wish to have your event catered by the Museum staff. This Hall is located on the main floor.
The Boardroom, located on the second floor, consist of a kitchenette area and of seating arrangements accommodating 15 to 25 persons. Audio-visual equipment is available at an extra cost.

Inner Courtyard
Enjoy a family picnic outdoors under a party tent or in our courtyard fronting the beautiful Sturgeon River. You will find a workable Blacksmith Shop known as La Forge Charles, the Duquette Icehouse where blocks of ice are stored throughout the year and the Maison Major, our old pioneer style home. An open-air stage is available for outdoor concerts or plays.
Permanent exhibit
The Museum's permanent exhibit consists of many interesting artifacts, examples of traditional snares and bush shelters, information on the remarkable fur-bearing animals of the north, a fascinating video on the creation of birch bark canoes, and so much more. Also, step back in time within our trading post replica to get an authentic feel for Ontario' rugged past. This exhibit is a tribute to the northern spirit of survival.
Souvenir and Gift Shop
Our Souvenir and Gift Shop is filled with unique items such as homemade soaps, dreamcatchers and other regionally themed gems -- many of which are locally made.
Dock and Boat Launch
The Museum offers boat launching with access to the Sturgeon River with the purchase of a seasonal pass.
